Trees
Dear Roger, I've forwarded your message to Bob Price, who should be able to advise. Regards - Nick

Trees at St Giles'
I have just had a message from the new arboricultural officer at WCBC that I was wrongly advised by both Alastair Henderson and Tudor Owen that pollarding trees with a TPO on them, when they have been pollarded before, is a maintenance operation and as such does not need planning permission. This is going to put the Church under much more administrative burden if this has to be done each time the trees are pollarded. Do you have any further advice, such as the statute which regulates these matters? Regards Roger Graham-Palmer

Grove Park School
I've been looking at the recent correspondence about this in the Wrexham Mail and saw a letter from your Nick Roe last week. I am a former pupil of this school and have already been in touch with the Council's Planning Control Manager about the school - his reponse was that he would let me know once a decision had been taken ! It is time a major public campaign was started to save this building; letters to the Mail are a good start but it's going to take more than that. Publicity is right up my street - what do you think about setting up a Save the School group ? I would be happy to be on it. Julie Hinchliffe 07854 047388

Trees at St. Giles
Dear Roger, Thank you very much for approaching the Civic Society about this. Maybe we can arrange a meeting at the church, and a committee member with professional knowlege of trees & landscaping can be present. Regards, Nick

Trees at St Giles' Church
Hello Wrexham Civic Society. I am contacting you as a Church Warden of St Giles'Church. The Church Committee have asked me to do what is necessary to reduce the number of trees and their density in the Church Yard to improve the views of the Church and to improve security,as the Church and its visitors cannot be seen by the town CCTV. I would welcome a chance to discuss this matter with the Society and I will be so grateful if you will be in touch? Regards Roger Graham-Palmer

aims
John, Thank you for your contribution. We discussed this at the Committee meeting yesterday and we agree with you, though the Civic Society at present lacks the resources to extend its interests as you describe. If you could suggest some speakers & topics for next season's programme, though, we might be able to make a start
