About Us
Wrexham Area Civic Society’s members are people who care about their town and wish to balance the past with the present and the future.
We aim to promote high quality design and to foster debate about architectural, planning and landscape issues. Notable past victories have included saving the Butter Market and the War Memorial Hospital from demolition, and recently our comments have secured rejection or modification of several poor developments.

We run an anual
awards
scheme for outstanding contributions to Wrexham’s architecture and landscape. The awards evening in the summer is always an enjoyable social occasion.
A programme of talks takes place in the autumn and winter, and details for 2006-7 are now
available.

We meet at the attractive headquarters of AVOW in Egerton Street, close to the bus station and car parks. Non-members are always welcome.
